Tampa Bay Buccaneers Favored Over Cleveland Browns In Week One NFL Match Up
September 6, 2010
Defensively for the Browns, it’s all about pressure, pressure, pressure, on Freeman. The Browns have made strides to try and improve their defense from a year ago. This includes the first round selections of defensive back Joe Haden. Haden was a stand out at Florida last season, and will look to make an immediate impact in that Browns secondary.
Offensively for the Browns, they were equally as poor. But, looking at the bright side, they made moves to bring in the players that new GM Mike Holmgren believes will be the right pieces to help produce wins. This includes completely reshaping the quarterback position.
Jake Delhomme will begin his reign in Cleveland on Sunday, as a veteran quarterback who is known as a solid game manager. Delhomme won’t wow anyone with his statistics, but he has a history of winning, and that is something that Cleveland is desperately searching for. Combining Delhomme, with running back Jerome Harrison, and the Browns might have something that can compete potentially in the AFC North, or at the very least throw together more wins early in the season.
On defense for the Buccaneers, heralded rookie Gerald McCoy,the third overall selection in April’s draft, will get his first taste of regular season NFL football on the line. The Buccaneers defense against the Browns offense is the better storyline in this one, as many questions on both sides will be answered here. Whether or not Tampa Bay can stop anyone on defense, and if Cleveland can move the ball at all on offense.
USA Online Sportsbooks and NFL Weekly betting lines favor the Buccaneers in this one. Tampa Bay has been set as a two-point favorite to win the first game of the year, with the over/under currently sitting at 37 points. The line opened at two and has held constant. Barring any injuries or other story lines, the line will likely settle right here.
The weather forecast for the game shows that it will be a hot one in Tampa, with the ever-possible chance for afternoon showers in Florida, as per the usual this time of the year.
$900,000 in shares paid for bingo.com domain
September 4, 2010
Toronto-listed online bingo provider Bingo.com has come to the conclusion that buying its distinctive domain is a better bet than renting it, paying shares to the value of $900,000 for ownership to the former owner Bingo Inc.
Bingo Inc., allowed Bingo.com to use the domain for some ten years in return for a payment equal to 4% of gross profits since January 18, 1999.
The companies agreed on the acquisition value of the domain after an assessment by an independent third party, which suggested that the value could be as high as $1.4 to $1.6 million.
Bingo.com chief executive Tarnie Williams said: “The successful acquisition of the remaining domain name payments owing to Bingo, Inc., at a substantial discount to the independent valuation, is another step in simplifying the operations of Bingo.com and a further strengthening our balance sheet.”
Slots.com recently sold (it is believed to the Bodog group) for $5.5 million.
Unibet holds a 25.9% in Bingo.com, which it bought earlier this year for $2.5 million.

New Markets Bring Big Profits For Online Gambling Giant Playtech, US Market In Sights
August 27, 2010
Playtech, one of the leading companies in the online gambling industry, has recently reported powerful revenue gains in the first half. The cause of the increase is the expansion of online gambling across much of Europe.
Over the past few months, two new gambling markets had opened through regulation. Italy and France had decided to regulate online gambling, and subsequently allow law abiding gambling companies set up shop within their borders.
With the addition of the French and Italian markets, Playtech’s gross income increased from $103.7 million to $136.3 million dollars, which represents a 31 percent increase over the same period from the previous year.
Playtech’s expansion has not been limited to simply entering the French and Italian markets. Earlier in the year, Playtech had also entered several partnerships. A five year deal had been made with William Hill, and partnerships had also been made with Scientific Games and Sportech.
Playtech is widely regarded as one of the best brands of online gambling, though they do not currently operate within the United States. The company has expressed repeated interest in offering USA online gambling, though there is a patient wait until the United States decides to regulate online gambling.
The online gambling industry in the United States is currently unregulated, though not technically criminalized.
Drew Brees And New Orleans Saints Giving Three Points To San Diego Chargers
August 25, 2010
Last week, the Chargers face the Cowboys, and lost that one 16-14. Rivers was solid however, completing 11 of 15 passes for 125 yards. Predicted rookie sensation Ryan Mathews carried the ball 12times for 53 yards. Defensively, the Chargers surrendered just 194 of offense to the Cowboys.
The Saints blew away Houston 38-20 in their last preseason outing, in what was a minimal outing for Brees and the rest of the Saints starters. Brees threw just 10 passes, completing five, for 36 yards. New Orleans should feel encouraged that the back up and reserve players were able to move the ball into the end zone.
For the match up this week, USA Online Sportsbooks have set the Saints as three-point favorites to defeat the Chargers. The over/under for the contest is installed at 42 1/2 points.
Offensively for the Saints against the Chargers defense, Brees and the other New Orleans quarterbacks will look to exploit mismatches. Looking at the New Orleans Saints 2010 Preview, they have a variety of weapons that they can use against San Diego, like trying to throw to running backs like Reggie Bush and let him make plays. Again however, it is undetermined how much field time the starters will get in this one.
Defensively for the Chargers, they will try and make the Saints one-dimensional. That will likely mean stopping the run game, though Brees and the passing game would still present a real threat. Still, the Chargers are a solid unit on defense and will be able to make some big plays in this one.
On offense for the Chargers against the Saints defense, they need to protect the ball. New Orleans had a habit last
season for creating turnovers, which they turned into points. That is something that San Diego must avoid. Establishing Mathews in the first quarter will be important. He will be a key to the Chargers success, looking ahead at the 2010 San Diego Chargers Team Preview.
For the Saints on defense, their main priority should be to shut down the passing game with Rivers, and make the rookie Mathews the focal point. The Saints have plenty of play-makers on the defensive side of the ball, and the match up between the Charger receivers and the Saints’ secondary will be fun to watch.
Since the game is in New Orleans, weather will not be a factor, as it will be played in the Super Dome. Game time temperature should be a steady and cool, complete with air conditioning.

expect Rodgers to be productive. The Packers were pretty balanced on offense last week, with Brandon Jackson rushing for 80 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown.
