Honesty the Best Policy
July 4, 2009
This week, the UK online casino newspapers have reported great and amazing news which is really interesting. That story was about a Swedish house wife who has cashed out a lotto ticket which she found on the supermarket floor. The lady was Mrs. Amanda Sracy and she has found this at the supermarket floor. She has picked it up and brought home. But she has never thought that lotto ticket will give her GBP 30,000.
The real owner of the ticket was Dorothy McDonough and he has reported the situation to the police. Then the police manage to freeze the balance GBP 15,000 immediately, but by that time the lady and her husband has already cashed out the lottery and used the money on their personal gain.
So the police immediately interviewed her to find out whether she has made an fraud on this scenario and she said that she didn’t knew that it was a crime to claim money from a found ticket and she told that she thought that it was her luck to find the lottery.
But the police was thinking another way and the charged her according the laws available for the fraud, so there was a court action was filed and the lady had to attend to the court.
So there various oral arguments occurred on the said situation and they also understood that it is that she has acted out of financial and not greedy.
However, the final judgment on the balance GBP15, 000 will be given on the coming July.
Paddy Power One Step Closer to Entering US Market
July 3, 2009
The Irish Examiner reported Tuesday that Ireland’s biggest – and the United Kingdom’s third largest – bookmaker, Paddy Power, is now poised to enter the lucrative U.S. market. Only problem is, they must wait for current legislation to be overturned.
The company expects this to happen within the next 12 months.
Paddy, while honing in on Congressman Barney Frank’s press conference at this week’s World Series of Poker, completely ignored The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association’s (www.imega.org) efforts in a court of law to have the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) eradicated. A decision in that matter could occur as early as this week.
The Examiner reports that Paddy Power opened a book on the issue of legalisation in the US, at the beginning of this year after receiving requests from certain punters to do so. A spokesperson for the company said yesterday that while stakes punted began at an average of €10-€20; last week they suddenly shot up in value to around €500. Much of that probably had to do with the anticipated decision in the iMEGA case.

Steve McNair Death Still a Mystery
July 3, 2009
NFL quarterback Steve McNair gave back to the community and for that he was beloved by many fans.
Many have trouble comprehending the tragedy that took place this weekend.
From USA Today:
The news and circumstances of McNair’s slaying dampened Fourth of July celebrations Saturday in Music City. He was found in his condominium Saturday afternoon, shot four times. The body of 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi- a waitress with whom the married father of four sons was having an affair – also lay dead from a single gunshot. A gun, thought to be the murder weapon, was found under her body, police said.
Reports surfaced that Kazemi had gone from driving a Kia to a Cadillac Escalade since meeting up with McNair.
In Nashville on Sunday, the questions swirled: Was McNair the victim of a murder-suicide carried out by a girlfriend? Or were they the victims of an unknown killer?
Nashville Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said there was no question that McNair, the NFL‘s 2003 co-MVP, was a homicide victim. But authorities were investigating how to classify Kazemi’s death. Aaron said she had one bullet wound, to the side of the head.
The implication there is that Kazemi may have killed McNair, then herself, but other scenarios have not yet been ruled out.
"From what we’ve learned from friends, they apparently were involved in a dating relationship over the past several months," Aaron said. "We have already begun talking to friends of Miss Kazemi and Mr. McNair in an effort to ascertain (whether they were) having any squabbles, and if so why. That’s a very important part of the investigation as we work toward classifying Miss Kazemi’s death."
