Tight Battle For Top Spot At Online Vegas Casino Slot Tournament
June 12, 2009

Online Vegas The weekend slot tournament that has drawn a large amount of interest at the Vegas Technologies network of casinos is one day away from being completed. With less than twenty-four hours remaining, the top spot is still up for grabs.
What happens in most of these weekend tournaments is that people play through the weekend, and one player usually has a commanding lead by the time Monday rolls around. That is not the case for the $50,000 30K Plus 20K bonus bucks freeroll at Online Vegas.
ayes41 is the current balance leader with $40,043.50. That online player is trailed closely by the second place participant, moonbell6980, with a balance of $24,132.50, and TinaK81 at $18,691.
“This is a very unusual tournament because all of the players at the top are bunched up,” said online player WalkerWood27, “at this point there is usually somebody that has hit a big bonus round and has taken a commanding lead. It will be interested to see how the tournament finishes.”
Online Vegas and Golden Casino have both been at the center of the online slot tournament world in the month of June. All of the tournaments at Golden Casino are free to enter for the entire month.
This weekends tournament has drawn 22,135 players. It is common that the online casinos draw over 20,000 for these free weekend tournaments.

Online Bingo Site Added To Parlay5 Platform – Online Casino News
June 7, 2009
Online bingo players at EuroBingo.com now have the opportunity to take advantage of larger prizes after operator NetPlay TV added the domain to the Parlay5 platform from solutions developer and supplier Parlay Entertainment Incorporated.
EuroBingo.com is currently available in five languages and its addition brings to eleven the total number of tongues catered for by Parlay5.
‘With the Parlay5 platform, not only can clients run sites in any preferred language and currency, their sites can live on the same gaming system,’ said Perry Malone, Chief Technology Officer for Parlay.
‘With Parlay5, we can turn around any new language requirements within a matter of days rather than months. This gives operators the ability to enter new markets and respond to changing market demands.’
Parlay revealed that this latest launch has seen it prove itself again as an industry leader in helping bingo clients easily open up new markets across Europe.
‘Bingo games have been available in different languages and currencies for a few years now,” said Gavin Whyte, Chief Operating Officer for NetPlay TV.
“However, traditionally, they have been stand-alone sites that struggled to build sufficient liquidity because of the inability of the software to combine the liquidity across currencies and languages.
“We chose to migrate our EuroBingo.com site to the Parlay5 platform because it allows us to combine fully-localised regional offerings into an essentially pan-European game.’
Online Poker Leads to Child Abuse?
June 7, 2009
Appearing on CNBC’s Dennis Kneale, Reed Kathrein of the law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol & Shapiro, made what many would consider the most "laughable" assertion against online gambling.
In Kathrein’s own words: "Online gambling addiction leads to child abuse".
At first we thought he was going to tow the anti-online gambling line of "children can access these online gambling websites and become addicts".
Kathrein actually managed to do what seemed impossible before his appearance on the show. He made the right wing zealots comments about "under age gamblers" seem reasonable in comparison to what he had to offer up.
"Internet gambling’s got to be stopped. It’s not a victimless crime."
Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard it all before, Reed. Children can access these online gambling sites and start playing with Mommy and Daddy’s credit card. Don’t worry about the act of stealing said card.
"The cost to society is estimated to be between $32 billion to $43 billion. The societal costs, the alcoholism."
Say what?
This guy makes Representative and anti online gambling zealot, Spencer Bachus, seem – dare we say it – rational.
Child abuse?
But just to clear up any misconception, Kneale asked his guest: "So if I play online poker, I’m going to abuse my child? You’re saying there is a correlation there?"
"I’m not going to say YOU are," Kathrein responded.
Oh, but EVERYONE ELSE IS? A percentage of the population will and a larger percentage.
Uhhhh…okay.
Kneale lashed out at his guest a little deeper into the interview, suggesting he would probably find little proof to back up Kathrein’s comments.
How Kneale’s other guest, Frank Catania of Catania Consulting Group, was able to keep a straight face is anyone’s guess.
Catania stated that US Government has "gone overboard on this".
He added: "They have really no standing at all to go after any of this money. This is players money. The Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act has given this as an exemption so there is no reason for them (Department of Justice) to be in there. The Department of Justice has violated more of the Constitution here than what they are protecting."
Anyway, if you want a good laugh, check out this CNBC video in its entirety.

Sacha “Ali G” Baron “Bruno” Cohen Faces Online Bingo Charges
June 7, 2009
Bingo Battle
Although the term life and death battles is a bit exaggerated, one bingo lady called Richelle Olson claims she is left disabled after an incident that took place at a bingo for charity event. Malefactor in this terrible event appears to be no one less than living caricature Sacha Baron Cohen.
Bruno the Bingo Caller
Cohen appeared on the main stage of this charity bingo event guised as his new character that goes by the name “Bruno”, an Austrian homosexual fashion reporter. A slightly peculiar scene perhaps watching this man calling the numbers, however one would expect more bursts of laughter than angry faces.
It appears Richelle Olson couldn’t really appreciate the antics of the 37-year-old Cohen, and tried to make an end to the show of the bingo caller by aiming to steel his microphone away. This then resulted in a struggle between the two of them, with the camera crew filming and allegedly joining in.
Legal Claims – The True Story
We can’t really imagine Sacha and his camera crew willingly injuring an elderly woman. As this case will certainly result in a giant legal claim, it might be the case that Ms. Olson’s story is a bit exaggerated. At least we hope both Bruno and Richelle Olson will recover from this fierce bingo battle.
We wish Bruno the best of luck with his new movie that will hit cinemas the 10th of July, and to Ms. Olson we can only say, get well soon! For you bingo lovers there is plenty of risk-free action at our #1 bingo hall 888ladies.com!

Belmont Stakes Betting Looks Like a Winner for G911
June 2, 2009
All early indications is that Belmont Stakes betting will be a hit for the Gambling911.com website, which witnessed its first major sporting event of 2009 fail to meet up to expectations with The Preakness three weeks ago.
"The results were discouraging," said Payton O’Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website. "The (traffic) numbers were up from last year but they did not meet forecast."
Much of that forecast was admittedly based on the record shattering results experienced from the Kentucky Derby.
A few of the sportsbooks reported that more than half the signups coming in from some affiliate partners so far this year were a result of the Kentucky Derby.
"The only problem with the Derby is a reliance on volume," says O’Brien. "It’s not unusual to see bets of a $100 and up on the Super Bowl or March Madness. With the Kentucky Derby, the average bet was around $10."
Thus far with the Belmont Stakes, Gambling911.com is looking at betting interest surpassing that of the Preakness, which would be a first since the G911 website came online back in September 2000. Of course, back then, there was hardly a website taking bets on horse racing.
"Belmont Stakes traffic was decent since post positions were announced on Wednesday," O’Brien said. "Typically the best traffic numbers for the Triple Crown races come in on Wednesday when post positions are determined and people begin betting the early numbers. Thursdays and Fridays, things slow down. Then by Saturday, traffic numbers really build after noon, although with the Derby we witnessed an unusual amount of traffic beginning by 8 am."
By noon, Belmont Stakes betting traffic was surging at the Gambling911.com website, mostly a result of solid search placement.
Gambling911.com reported its highest traffic month ever in May. The website is the most read by industry professionals and online gambling operators.

French Open Betting Odds – Roger Federer Could Pay 4/3
June 2, 2009
Gambling911.com on Tuesday alluded to the fact that some of the US facing online gambling sites were offering Roger Federer with odds that would require a slight risk verses the reward (i.e. bet US$130 to win US$100). Sportingbet.com Wednesday morning featured French Open betting odds on Federer at 4/3 for a payout of US$133 on every US$100 bet.
"That’s a steal!" insists Allistair Prescott of Gambling911.com. "When you consider that there are only six men left standing and Roger Federer has been the second favourite all along prior to Rafael Nadal’s ouster, it is pretty significant that Federer still pays decent money."
Federer was due to take on Gael Monfils, who was looking to become the first Frenchman to reach the final at Roland Garros since Henri Leconte in 1988.
"The good news is that Garros has a price of 12/1," says Prescott. "The bad news is he’s a local favorite who will have plenty of fan support versus Federer."
Monfils is "the best athlete we have seen play this game before as far as just from a pure athletic standpoint. He covers so much ground," tennis player, Andy Roddick said on Monday.
"I think I’m ready. I hope I’m ready. I have to take my revenge. I hope I can make it," said Monfils, who habitually treats the crowd to stuntman style diving.
"I’m French. We’re in France. The French crowd is with me, but they love Federer. I hope they’ll support me more because I’m French. I hope they support me."

June 2, 2009
The 2009 World Series of Poker, the game’s marquee event of the year is officially in full swing at Las Vegas’ Rio Hotel and Casino. Thousands of players from all over the world have descended into Sin City with dreams of becoming poker’s next household name and looking to earn one of the coveted bracelets awarded to each event’s winner.
As of this morning, 3 tournaments are in the books with the 4th, the special $1,000 buy in stimulus tournament wrapping up in the wee hours last night
Event #1 Results – No Limit Hold’em Casino Employees
The 1st event of this year’s series was the $500 No-Limit Hold’em Casino Employees tournament where Andrew Cohen, a bartender and former NYC resident was able to outlast a field of 866 to earn his biggest tournament win ever.
Below is a list of the top 10 finishers along with their respective prizes. 1 Andrew Cohen $83,833 2 Paul Peterson $51,787 3 Casey Kuhn $33,923 4 Grant Yasui $23,483 5 Dulay Elpidio $17,127 6 Robert Rooney $13,125 7 John McAvoy $10,545 8 Ferdinand Boleski $8,865 9 Sam Porter $7,782 10 Jonathan Williams $5,502
Event 2 Results – $40K No Limit Hold’em
Event 2 is considered by many to be one of the more prestigious events at this year’s series, if not all of poker. The $40,000 No Limit Hold em event was held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the tournament series and taking down the top prize in a field of 201 of poker’s best was up and coming Russian poker pro Vitaly Lunkin. His impressive showing earned him close to $1.9 Million.
Below is a list of the top 10 finishers of event #2 with their prize money earned:
1 Vitaly Lunkin $1,891,012 2 Isaac Haxton $1,168,566 3 Greg Raymer $774,927 4 Dani Stern $548,315 5 Justin Bonomo $413,166 6 Alec Torelli $329,730 7 Lex Veldhuis $277,940 8 Noah Schwartz $246,834 9 Ted Forrest $230,317 10 Antanas Guoga $172,120
Event #3 – Omaha 8 or Better
Event 3 was an Omaha 8 or better tournament with a buy in of $1,500. In perhaps one of the greatest accomplishments in WSOP history, Thang Luu defeated the field of 918 players and took home the bracelet in the event for the 2nd straight year. Perhaps even more impressive is that in 2007, Luu was the runner up in the very same event. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to 3-peat next year, becoming the first player in WSOP history to perform the feat.
Below is a list of the top finishers for this event:
